At its heart, the IC697CPX935 features a 96 MHz 80486DX4
microprocessor, delivering a Boolean execution speed of 0.4
microseconds and enabling floating-point calculations at the same
rapid 0.4-microsecond interval. Its memory configuration includes 1
MB of battery-backed Random Access Memory (RAM) (relying on the
IC697ACC701 battery for backup) and 256 KB of non-volatile flash
memory—the latter dedicated to storing system firmware. A key
advantage of the flash memory is that firmware updates can be
completed without disassembling the module or replacing EPROMs,
simplifying maintenance.
For I/O handling, the CPU supports substantial capacity: it
accommodates up to 12,000 discrete input/output (I/O) points (12K
bits) and allocates 8,000 words of memory for analog I/O. This
robust I/O capability makes it well-suited for large, complex
industrial applications where extensive process monitoring and
control are required.

The IC697CPX935 is equipped with three built-in serial ports to

Break-Free SNP Slave functionality is exclusive to Port 1 and Port

standard format.

Programming & Control
Programming Software: User programs are developed using MS-DOS or

software linked to a computer, or via a 3-position RUN/STOP switch
on the module.
